Often as women or young ladies, we let others dictate how we should receive ourselves. This often stems from how we were received as children. Our mothers or immediate care givers would forcefully maintain our appearance. Just think. You had to be fixed looking flawless whenever you left home. We had to play carefully in order to not disrupt our parent’s hours of pre-maintained image they curated for us. We were their live billboards stating that we were everything they wished they had… A pure beauty. As we grew older our parents would let us semi-decide our vision of ourselves. This would lead to no you’re not going to embarrass me conversations, let’s rethink this choice, and etc. Little did we know how this would truly affect us in the future as women and mothers. I as a mother I caught myself several times in these actions or telling my children the same exact speeches I received as a young girl. As a grown woman now, I realize what I have experienced, accepted, and am now capable to change. We must love the beauty that was given to us. We are not what society dictates as beautiful. Yes, by all means dress nice, beat your face, slay your hair if you love to, but remember it is for you, not them. Pure beauty comes from our creator in Heaven and he deemed us all BEAUTIFUL with or without makeup, hair slayed, or the latest outfit. Be you the unpolished beautiful person you were born to be when you choose to be. Just love who you are.
Genesis 1:27 (NLT) So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.
